Myfanwy joined Pastance in 2000. She began her Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney in 1996. Majoring in recorder she studied under Howard Oberg and Hans Dieter Michatz and performed with various chamber ensembles including the Conservatorium Baroque Orchestra under Paul Dyer.
Myfanwy also performed and assisted with the management of the Conservatorium Chorale for 4 years as soprano and soloist under Neil McEwan. A group of 15 20 singers, the Chorale performed a varied repertoire from 9th century chant to contemporary Australian compositions, with a focus on baroque music. The Conservatorium Chorale also recorded many ABC and SBS Broadcasts a cappella and with the Conservatorium Baroque and the SBS Orchestras.
In 1999 Myfanwy recorded “Elegy for a Clown” by Peter Sculthorpe with Guy Noble accompanying on piano as part of ABC Radio’s celebration of 70 years of collaboration with the Australian composer.
